In modern physics and astrophysical research numerical simulations play an ever more important role.
The lecture introduces quite generally into the modern numerical techniques, using examples from
Astronomy & Astrophysics.
The lecture is thematically self contained, the necessary knowledge from astrophysics, or numerics will
be introduced during the lecture.
The lecture can be used as an introduction to the areas (Vertiefungsfächer) Astronomy&Astrophysics
of Computational Physics.
The accompanying excercises give opportunity, to program and test some applications directly.
As programming languages we suggest: C, Python, or Fortran.
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of Physics
The excercies will be held by Christoph Schäfer
Informations about the excercises (die Blätter werden unter ILIAS ausgegeben) .
