Content
The lecture introduces into the foundations of the theoretical description of astrophysical
processes. After a short summary of thermodynamics and hydrodynamics we will discuss sound waves and hydrodynamical
instabilities. Then examples from astrophysics will be discussed: accretion processes, stellar physics,
and magnetic phenomena.
Prerequisite: Introductory courses in Physics, basic knowledge of Astronomy & Astrophysics
